Windscreen wiper/washer

The windscreen wipers are attached to a metal arm which is operated by an electric motor (the wiper motor). The washer pump is the car part used to spray the screenwash onto your windscreen.

Wiper blades are rather vulnerable car parts meaning they have to be replaced very regularly. It is important that the windscreen wipers work well to ensure good visibility.

Every once in a while your windscreen wipers need to be cleaned with warm water. Only clean used wipers however as it can actually damage new wiper blades.

When your wiper blades leave traces, have difficulty sliding over the windscreen or squeak the wiper blade needs to be replaced.
