What is the
clutch release bearing?
The clutch release bearing or
throw-out bearing allows the clutch disc to be separated from the clutch mechanism. The release bearing looks like a bearing or a ring. The clutch release bearing is operated via the
clutch cable.
When disengaged, the
clutch release bearing puts pressure onto the fingers or diaphragm spring of the
clutch pressure plates. to allow the driver to change gears. If you need to replace your
clutch kit, we recommend you change your clutch release bearing as well.
