What is the
air conditioning condenser?
The condenser changes the refrigerant from gas to fluid so that it can flow more easily through the
air conditioning system. The refrigerant gas R134a is first heated and pressurised by the
compressor. The heated and pressurised gas is then injected into the condenser which cools it down. Due to the cooling process, the gas becomes liquid.
The
condenser looks like the
heater motor and is fixed just in front of the heater part. The engine
fan of the car is in turn put in front of the condenser. The condenser is in most cases manufactured of aluminium. Apart from being light, aluminium has a refrigerating tendency.
