The fuel or feed pump is intended to supply the carburettor in your Mercedes-Benz T2/L with petrol. The fuel pump is situated in the fuel tank. It is completely submerged in petrol and linked by a pipe to the high-pressure injection pipe in the engine. Via the fuel hose, the feed sends a quantity of petrol in excess of the engine’s requirements, which ensures an adequate supply of fuel to the engine. The excess fuel is then reinjected into the system by a pressure regulator.
The lifespan of a fuel pump is almost indefinite and is supposed to last until the end of the lifespan of your Mercedes-Benz T2/L. However, certain signs may point to a problem linked with your pump: difficulties on starting up, repeated stalling, juddering while driving, or a noticeable whistling noise.
